Today there were a lot of dives with various goals. Jim Brown and Mark Meadows spent some time training in the basin doing emergency drills and getting used to one another as diver partners. Additionally, they practiced entering the decompression transfer capsule at depth. Meanwhile, Jeff Johnson and Tom Johnson (no relation) dove into A Tunnel to look for a short-cut into the Monolith Room [photo ©1999 Barbara Anne am Ende]. |

John Buxton waves to his admiring public as he brings two Thinman scooters to the surface. In true British cave diving fashion, he dives with sidemounts and a helmet covered with "torches" (the white line near the bottom of the photo is the cable from Mission Control to the Marks Products camera mounted in the cave) [photo ©1999 Bob Killorin]. |

Todd Bryan volunteered for the month of December here at the Wakulla 2 project. He's a Tennessee dry caver who wanted to learn additional computer skills. Little did he know he'd be sucked into manning the communications shack on the barge, hauling tanks to and from the water, and surveying overland waypoints. In spite of it all he's reluctant to leave. We have a feeling Todd's going to find a way to sneak back down for a few more days of helping out before the expedition's over [photo ©1999 Barbara Anne am Ende]. |
