December 16, 1998

Today's goal was to perform a full team simulation of a 5 kilometer (17,000 ft) dive by 3 rebreather divers driving Fat Man scooters, towing backup scooters. After the dive, the divers returned to the surface in the transfer capsule and decompressed in the chamber. Because the dive was a simulation at shallow depths, the actual decompression time was no greater than a 3 minute safety stop, but the transfer capsule process was used to simulate future in-cave missions.
