Preliminary January, 1999 Maps

Below are 2D jpeg images of the 3D Interactive Cave Map produced from the data gathered during January, 1999. These images show "point clouds" where each colored dot represents an actual point in 3D space on the cave wall where a sonar beam recorded its position. Each color represents a separate pass of the digital wall mapper.

Prior to plotting, the wall points were adjusted for the drift in the inertial navigation system using radio location at several waypoints.

This is a preliminary composite map (plan view) of all mapping runs into Wakulla Spring during January, 1999.

This preliminary map (plan view) shows the locations of all radio beacons in relationship to the traverse lines made on mapping missions.
